Ruminants

Synbiotics manufactures products for virtually every major ruminant disease which are designed for commercial diagnostic laboratories or veterinarians specializing in production animals.  These diagnostic kits feature two major ELISA lines, SERELISA® and LACTELISA®, for use with primarily serum or milk samples, respectively.  Along with these two formats, the brucellosis diagnostic options include sero-agglutination (ANTIGENE SAW), compliment fixation (ANTIFIX) and rapid slide agglutination (BENGATEST). For the detection of Bovine Leukemia Virus (BLV), Synbiotics manufactures multiple SERELISA® and LACTELISA® assays in addition to LEUCOSE BOVINE AGID. SERELISA® kits are available to detect Pestivirus strains associated with Bovine Viral Diarrhea (BVD) as well as Bovine Herpes Virus type I (BHV-1) associated with Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR) and Infectious Pustular Vulvovaginitis (IPV).  Synbiotics also offers LEUCOCYTEST (California Mastitis Test), MYCOBACTINE J and SERELISA® M. ParaTB Ab Mono Indirect kit (Johne’s disease), FUNGASSAY® (dermatophytes), OVASSAY®/OVATEC® Plus (intestinal parasitic ova) and a variety of tuberculosis diagnostic aids (BOVITUBER® PPD, AVITUBER®, and Tuberculin OT).

BENGATEST
BENGATEST is a rapid slide agglutination test for the serological diagnosis of brucellosis caused by Brucella melitensis, abortus and suis.  The inactivated and concentrated suspension of Brucella abortus antigen which has been stained with rose Bengal and dispersed in an acid buffer allows for the detection of Brucella antibodies.
