Whether you are a companion animal veterinarian, reproductive veterinarian, humane society animal supervisor or laboratory director, Synbiotics produces an appropriate feline diagnostic test. For convenient, in clinic screening, our WITNESS® Rapid Immuno-Migration (RIM™) tests provide a single test format for the detection of feline heartworm (HW), feline leukemia virus (FeLV), feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), or the determination of relaxin or luteinizing hormone (LH) levels to assess stages of estrous or pregnancy. For noninvasive FeLV screening, our ASSURE®/FeLV test format can be used with saliva. For testing a large number of samples in one assay, we manufacture ELISA tests including ViraCHEK®/FeLV, ViraCHEK®/FIV (only available from Lyon and for markets outside North America) and ViraCHEK®/CV (Coronovirus or Feline Infectious Peritonitis), DiroCHEK® for heartworm and SERELISA® Rabies. Synbiotics also offers OVASSAY® Plus/OVATEC® Plus System and FUNGASSAY® to screen for gastrointestinal parasitic ova and dermatophytes.

ViraCHEK®/CV

ViraCHEK®/CV is a highly specific, sensitive and rapid enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for the detection of antibodies to Feline Coronavirus (FCoV). Included in the broad classification of FCoV, is Feline Enteric Coronavirus (FeCV) which is generally thought to be the precursor of Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). Visual comparison of color in samples to the negative control will allow accurate detection of the presence of Feline Coronavirus (FCoV) antibody in the sample. (A positive result does not necessarily mean that the cat has FeCV and/or FIP, however, a positive FCoV serology should be considered in conjunction with other clinical findings to support a diagnosis of FeCV and/or FIP.)
